You are a International Medical Students and wish to study in Tours :

Short-term study at the Faculty of Medicine of Tours

The only ERASMUS mobility pathways currently available to study in Tours are based on agreements with:

  • Bucharest (Romania) – for the third year of medical studies (L3)
  • Bielefeld (Germany) – for the fourth year of medical studies (MM1)

Application forms must be obtained from the International Relations Office of the University of Tours.

Internships at the Faculty of Medicine of Tours

Internships must first be arranged independently within the Tours University Hospital (CHRU).

  • In both initial training and specialized trainingobservational internships of up to 3 months may be undertaken in a hospital setting.

You are a international medical doctor and you wish to come to Tours

Specialized training

If you are a qualified doctor (thesis completed) but have not completed your specialty training

  • Some Inter-University Diplomas (DIU) are open to international students and foreign doctors.
  • After starting your specialization in your home country, you may complete 1 to 3 years of specialization in Tours through the DFMS (Diplôme de Formation Médicale Spécialisée).
    Applications must be obtained from the Cultural Service of the French Embassy in December prior to the desired academic year.
  • After completing your specialization in your home country, further training is possible in Tours through the DFMSA (Diplôme de Formation Médicale Spécialisée Approfondie).
    Applications must be obtained from the Cultural Service of the French Embassy starting in December prior to the desired academic year.

You would like to conduct research at the University of Tours

Faculty members of the Faculty of Medicine of Tours are all affiliated with research units involved in international collaborative programmes.

Each year, international students are welcomed in these units at different levels:

  • Bachelor’s / Master’s / PhD (LMD framework)
  • Postdoctoral level
