Non-EU Candidates: Access to Health Studies

If you hold a degree in health studies (Medicine, Pharmacy or Dentistry), or if you have completed all or part of your studies outside the European Union and wish to continue at the University of Tours, you may apply.

Application Procedure

Applications must be submitted through the Service for Cooperation and Cultural Action (SCAC) in the country where your diploma was obtained or where you are currently studying.

The application deadline must be confirmed with the SCAC.

For the academic year 2026–2027, admission is available in:

  • Medicine
  • Pharmacy

Number of Available Places (2026–2027)

  • Medicine: 3 places
  • Pharmacy: 2 places
  • Dentistry: 1 place

Application File

  • Detailed academic background (transcripts, courses, supporting documents)
  • Name(s) of institutions attended
  • Certified copies of diplomas (with official translation if required)
  • Sworn statement indicating:
    • Number of previous applications in France
    • Number of enrollments in first-year health studies (if applicable)
  • Sworn statement confirming no simultaneous application to another French university
  • Proof of French language proficiency (mandatory level C1): TCF, DALF or equivalent
  • Motivation letter explaining your intention to study in the Centre-Val de Loire region

Important Rules

  • Only one application per academic year (one university, one program)
  • Maximum of two applications in total

Selection Process

The admission jury includes at least 8 members from different health disciplines and external representatives.

Key Dates (2026 Intake)

  • Application deadline: defined by SCAC
  • March 17, 2026: Applications sent to universities
  • April 9, 2026: Eligibility results
  • April 15, 2026: Invitation to oral exams
  • June 16–26, 2026: Oral preparation sessions
  • July 3, 2026: Oral exams (Tours, in person)
  • July 13, 2026: Final results
  • July 13 – September 4, 2026: Administrative registration

Advanced Placement

Candidates may request entry into higher years (up to Year 5).

This request must be submitted before September 4, 2026, after mandatory enrollment in Year 2.
